A classic news reading experience, refreshed with modern touches

Clean and classic
Just the news, no noise
They approached me to redesign their outdated website, aiming for a fresher look that better highlights their top stories and weekly most-read articles. While the original idea included a "news stream" which was popular at the time, it was later scrapped due to the limited number of daily posts. Instead, the focus shifted to emphasizing existing content and allowing more modularity—giving the editors greater control over which stories get featured.
For sections like property news, they requested a distinctive layout—so a wider, more prominent design was implemented to make it stand out, while ensuring a consistent experience across both web and mobile platforms.
In addition to the website redesign, I also worked on their editorial design. This included creating long-form articles with custom graphics and layouts. I even joined some of their team’s field trips to help capture photography used in the designs. These long-form articles ended up performing significantly better—up to 80% more engagement compared to regular pieces—and even contributed to a noticeable boost in sales.
